Second hand gold
Scrap gold as jewelry and commemorative medals.
All the jewellery that we normally wear is 18 carat gold (i.e. the fineness should be 750 °/°°), but it is always advisable to check carefully. The fineness in thousandths should be clearly marked on each item, that corresponds to the precious metal content, in addition to the manufacturer’s mark (province and progressive number). The fineness of the gold is stamped in a diamond-shape that shows the gold content expressed in thousandths (for example “750” in the case of 18-carat gold).
Before weighing the jewels, any stones present must be removed while the mechanism must be removed from watches. Otherwise, stones and parts not in gold will be selected by our laboratory. It should also be remembered that all closures, watch bracelets, “elasticated” jewellery contain a steel core that will affect the final weight we recognise. You can now enter the total weight of the jewels and select the carats stamped on them in the space provided and you will see the theoretical value which we will pay when the operation has been completed.
Upon arrival of the goods at our premises, our laboratory reserves the right to carefully check the real content of pure gold in the jewellery sent and we will advise you of the net value that we will recognise for your valuables.
